REVIEWS

We will always aim to achieve high rankings on accommodation review websites.

Over the years we have always enjoyed the company of repeat guests at Riverwood Strathtay and Coach House, Kair.

Here at Yew Tree Cottage we have strived to achieve the same high standards, attention to detail and levels of service that have enabled our guests to return on many occasions.

Ann and Alf are the perfect hosts, nothing is a bother to them. They have a great knowledgeable of the area, where to visit, walk and explore.
We have stayed in Ann and Alf’s BnB accommodations over many years and hopefully will continue to do so for many years to come. They are wonderful people/hosts.

Tips for other travellers
The Birks walk, Glen Lyon and The Queen’s View to name a few. So much to see and do in Pitlochry ( Pitlochry Theatre, booking advised. ) and Aberfeldy too.

Yew Tree Cottage is lovely. Alf is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious. Everything is provided for an enjoyable stay, in a peaceful setting.

Tips for other travellers
The food is good at The Fortingall Hotel. Lovely walks at the Birks of Aberfeldy. The Watermill is good for books and a cuppa. Nice scenic drive up through Glen Lyon. Stop at The Hub, Bridge of Balgie, for lunch. A visit to The Scottish Crannog Centre is highly recommended.

The area is beautiful and peaceful. The darkness of the night sky makes star gazing incredible. There are plenty of interesting birds in the nearby forest.

Comments about this property:
Alf and Ann are lovely hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely continental breakfast brought to the cottage. The village is lovely and quiet but a short drive to surrounding towns such as Pitlochry and Kenmore.

Tips for other travellers:
We dined in the Fortingall Hotel one night which is practically next door. Food was very nice with a good choice on the menu—they also do lighter suppers in the bar. They have musical evenings with live music, usually on a Friday night. We also dined in The Inn on the Tay at Strathtay and enjoyed a nice coffee in the Grandtully Chocolatier. The coffee shop at the dam in Pitlochry is also very nice. Lovely walks around the whole area.

The area around the cottage is beautiful and a trip up Glen Lyon is well worth it. It’s a bonus if the café is open.

Comments about this property:
As always, a very enjoyable stay with Ann & Alf who are the perfect hosts. The newly refurbished cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need—immaculately clean and tastefully furnished. Delicious and generous continental breakfast delivered to your door each morning. Looking forward to returning in the spring or summer to take advantage of the lovely private garden.

Tips for other travellers:
We enjoyed trips to Aberfeldy, Grandtully and Kenmore—all within easy reach. Would recommend the Three Lemons in Aberfeldy and the Grandtully Hotel for eating out.

Comments about this property:
The character cottage has been upgraded beautifully and is very well equipped. The substantial continental breakfast is so good. We enjoyed our first stay in Yew Tree Cottage and have booked again for next year, which says how good it is.

Tips for other travellers:
The cottage has a useful list of good places for coffee and dining. We like the Inn on the Tay. Although the road to Glen Lyon is narrow with many bends, there are lots of passing places and the café serves fabulous soup. Pitlochry has a great putting green.
